Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is for you if

  • You have carried the same tension for years and you are curious why it keeps coming back.
  • You have tried stretching, a physio, yoga classes, the roller. They helped for a day.
  • You want to understand what your body is doing before you try to change it.
  • You are happy to watch, notice and explore at your own pace.

This is not for you if

  • You want a daily breathing session with steps to follow. There are no steps here.
  • You want a list of techniques to do each morning. You will not find one.
  • You want someone to correct your posture for you. This course teaches you to read it yourself.
  • You want a result from one session. Recognition takes a little patience.

If the right-hand column is you, keep your money. No hard feelings.

Inside the course

What actually happens inside

Five sessions, a welcome and a closing bridge. Each one is short. In Mia's words:

  1. W

    Welcome

A short welcome on how to use this. Short version: no notebook, no special room, just you and the next breath.

  2. 1

    Session 1: Not Broken

We take the word "broken" off the table. You will see why the tension is a habit, not a fault.

  3. 2

    Session 2: Layers

Your body is built in layers, and they all take part when you breathe. We look at which ones do, and which ones stopped.

  4. 3

    Session 3: Awareness

Where do you breathe? Chest, belly, one side more than the other? Most people are surprised here.

  5. 4

    Session 4: Read Your Body

You get a printable Day Map: six everyday moments to read your breath and posture, from the first coffee to the sofa at night.

  6. 5

    Session 5: Longer Breath

A longer look at what happens when the breath gets a little more room. Still nothing to follow.

  7. B

    Closing bridge

Where this goes next, and how breath connects to fascia and movement.

The idea

Why patterns, not another list of things to do

Most of us carry the same tension for years. The tight shoulder, the shallow breath, the back that complains by evening. It is easy to treat that like a broken part and go looking for the one tool that will finally stop it.

But often nothing is broken. The body has learned a way of breathing, holding and moving, and it keeps repeating it. It learned it at a desk, or carrying a child, or bracing through a hard year. The reason went. The habit stayed.

A stretch talks to the muscle. It does not talk to the habit. That is why it comes back.

You cannot change a pattern you have never seen, and most of us were never shown how to look.

Breath as a Doorway is that look. Simple observations and explorations that help you notice where you breathe, where you hold, what moves and what does not. Recognition comes first, and change becomes possible after that.

Questions

FAQ

Is this a set of breathing techniques I follow every day?

No. There are no counts, no steps and no daily sequence. Each session is Mia talking you through one thing to notice in your own breath and body, with pauses so you can notice it. It is closer to a guided observation than a lesson. If you want techniques to do, this is the wrong course for you, and the 10-day guarantee exists for exactly that case.

Do I need any equipment?

No. A chair, a floor or a bed, and a phone or laptop. The Day Map in session four is printable, but it works on a screen too.

How long does it take?

Five sessions plus a short welcome and a closing bridge. Most people go through it over one to two weeks. It is self-paced, so a session a day or a session a week are both fine.

Is it for beginners?

It is for beginners at reading their own body, which is almost everyone. You do not need a yoga, breathing or anatomy background. If you have been tight for years, you already have the experience you need.

Will it fix my pain?

No, and be careful of any course that promises that. This course does not treat or correct anything. What it does is help you recognize the pattern behind your everyday tension, so you understand it more clearly and can make better choices about what your body may need. If you have pain that worries you, see a doctor.

What device can I use?

Any. Phone, tablet, laptop, or a TV browser. You have lifetime access, so come back on whichever one is nearest.

What is the refund?

The full amount, within 10 days of purchase, by email, no reason needed, as long as you have not opened Session 3. The details are in the refund terms.

What comes after this?

Breath is the first doorway. The next is Fascia as a Doorway, a seven-day course launching soon, and then Movement as a Doorway. Each one builds the same thing, body literacy, through a different way in. You do not need the next one to get value from this one.

Is this yoga?

No. Mia comes from a yoga and body-work background, but there are no poses to hold and no flow to follow. You will mostly be sitting or lying down, noticing.

How is this different from a physio or a massage?

Those are things someone does to you, and they can be useful. This is a way of reading yourself, and you keep it. The two go together well.
